of <h1>Karnataka GST Act: Aadhaar Authentication Required for Certain Registrations Starting April 2020; Rule 9 Alternatives Available.</h1> The Government of Karnataka, under the Karnataka Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, mandates that certain classes of persons, including authorized signatories, managing and authorized partners of partnership firms, and the Karta of Hindu undivided families, must authenticate their Aadhaar number to be eligible for GST registration. This requirement is effective from April 1, 2020. If Aadhaar is not available, alternative identification methods as per rule 9 of the Karnataka GST Rules, 2017, will be provided. This notification is issued by the Finance Department on behalf of the Governor of Karnataka.
