of <h1>Tamil Nadu Exempts FAO Supplies from State Tax for Key Agriculture and Nutrition Projects Under GST Act 2017.</h1> The Government of Tamil Nadu has issued a notification exempting goods supplied to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) from state tax under the Tamil Nadu Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. This exemption applies to goods intended for specific projects, namely 'Strengthening Capacities for Nutrition-sensitive Agriculture and Food Systems' and 'Green Ag: Transforming Indian Agriculture for Global Environment Benefits and the Conservation of Critical Biodiversity and Forest Landscape.' The exemption is contingent upon certification by a designated officer from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. This notification takes effect from October 1, 2019.
