This appointment follows the individual's previous role as Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and GST, replacing a predecessor in the position. The appointment is made under the powers conferred by section 3 of the Odisha State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings, and Employments Act, 2000, and the appointee is authorized to exercise powers and discharge functions under this Act.
