of <h1>Andhra Pradesh Amends GST Notification: Nil Tax on Electric Vehicles for Local Authorities, Effective August 2019.</h1> The Government of Andhra Pradesh has amended Notification G.O.Ms.No.588, dated December 12, 2017, under the Andhra Pradesh Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The amendment, effective from August 1, 2019, introduces a clause to the existing notification, specifying that services involving electrically operated vehicles, designed to carry more than twelve passengers and provided to local authorities, are subject to a nil rate of tax. An electrically operated vehicle is defined as one powered solely by electrical energy from an external source or batteries, as per Chapter 87 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975.
