Karnataka High Court Designated as Special Court for Money Laundering Cases u/s 4 of PMLA Act 2002.

The Central Government, under the authority of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002, has designated the High Court of Karnataka as a Special Court. This designation, effective from May 15, 2019, involves the 81st Additional City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru, which will serve as the Special Court for the entire state of Karnataka. This court is tasked with handling trials related to offenses punishable under Section 4 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002. The decision was made in consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka.
