of <h1>CBDT Updates Chief Commissioners' Jurisdictions in Major Cities u/s 120 of Income-Tax Act 1961.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has amended the notification S.O. 733(E) dated 31st July 2001, under section 120 of the Income-Tax Act, 1961. The amendment involves changes in Schedule-I, replacing specific serial numbers and their entries with updated designations of Chief Commissioners of Income-Tax and their respective jurisdictions in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Udaipur, Chandigarh, Patna, Ranchi, and Lucknow. Additionally, new entries have been added at the end of Schedule-I, introducing Chief Commissioners and their jurisdictions in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Jodhpur, Shimla, Patna, and Bareilly. The notification takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
