of <h1>Income-Tax Rules Amended: New Provisions for Rural Education, Medical Facilities, and Road Safety Initiatives Under Section 295</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has amended the Income-Tax Rules, 1962, under section 295 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. The amendment, titled the Income-tax (Tenth Amendment) Rules, 1998, comes into effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette. It introduces new clauses in Part II, sub-part F, rule 11K, including provisions for establishing educational institutions and medical facilities in rural areas for women and children up to 12 years, creches and schools for children of factory or construction workers, promoting bacteria-induced fertilizers, and programs for road safety and traffic awareness.
