Equity Shares Designated as Long-Term Specified Securities u/s 54EB, Non-transferable for Seven Years.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has designated certain equity shares issued by Energy Development Company Ltd., Bangalore, as long-term specified securities under Section 54EB of the Income-tax Act, 1961. These shares, to be issued within one year from the notification date, have a total value not exceeding 1.6 crore rupees and are non-transferable for seven years post-allotment. This notification was signed by the Under Secretary to the Government of India.
