of <h1>Maharashtra Amends Composition Scheme Tax Rates per MGST Rule 7, Effective February 1, 2019, Aligns with GST Council.</h1> The Government of Maharashtra has issued Notification No. 5/2019-State Tax to amend Notification No. 8/2017-State Tax, aligning the rates for the Composition Scheme with the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax (MGST) Rules, 2017. Effective from February 1, 2019, the amendment replaces the existing tax rate calculation method with a rate specified in Rule 7 of the MGST Rules, 2017. This change updates the tax calculation for suppliers under the Composition Scheme as per the recommendations of the Council. The notification is issued by the Finance Department and published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette.
