of <h1>India Extends IGST and Compensation Cess Exemption for EOUs on Imports Until April 1, 2020, per Notification 9/2019.</h1> The Government of India has amended Notification No. 52/2003-Customs to extend the exemption from Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) and compensation cess for Export Oriented Units (EOUs) on imports. Originally set to expire on April 1, 2019, the exemption is now extended to April 1, 2020. This amendment, issued under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, reflects the government's decision to continue supporting EOUs in the public interest. The amendment was officially documented in Notification No. 9/2019-Customs, dated March 25, 2019, by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
