of <h1>India Forms GST Standing Committee u/r 97 and Section 168 with Key Government Officials.</h1> The Government of India, under the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, has established a Standing Committee as per sub-rule (4) of rule 97 and Section 168 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The committee comprises key officials including the Secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs as Chairman, and representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Department of Rural Development, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Department of Higher Education, Bureau of Indian Standards, and the Consumer Welfare Fund.
