of <h1>Life Insurance Corporation Chairman Appointed as New SEBI Chairman u/s 4 of SEBI Act 1992 for Three Years.</h1> The Central Government has appointed the Chairman of the Life Insurance Corporation of India as the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). This appointment is made under the authority of Section 4 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, and the relevant service rules. The term of the appointment is for three years from the date the appointee assumes office, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first. The notification is issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs.
