Effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, the amendment introduces a new sub-rule in rule 8. This sub-rule allows any provident fund, represented by its trustees and part of an exempted establishment under the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, to be eligible for election as a member of a stock exchange. This amendment is part of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) (Second Amendment) Rules, 2014.
