of <h1>India Extends Tax Exemption for EOUs on Imported Goods Until April 1, 2019, via Notification No. 65/2018-Customs.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 65/2018-Customs, dated September 24, 2018. This notification amends a previous notification (No. 52/2003-Customs) to extend the exemption from Integrated Tax and Compensation Cess on goods imported by Export Oriented Units (EOUs) until April 1, 2019. This extension is deemed necessary in the public interest under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962. The original notification was last amended by Notification No. 33/2018-Customs on March 23, 2018.
