The notification, effective from July 27, 2018, outlines various handicraft items and their applicable tax rates. Items such as handcrafted candles, handbags, wooden frames, and others are taxed at 6%, while mats, handmade carpets, and certain textiles are taxed at 2.5%. Silver filigree work and handmade imitation jewelry have a 1.5% tax rate. This measure aims to support the handicraft sector by reducing the tax burden on these goods.
