of <h1>Assam Amends GST Notification: New Entry for Government Rental Services, 'Insurance Agent' Defined per Insurance Act 1938.</h1> The Government of Assam has issued amendments to Notification No. FTX.56/2017/26, dated June 29, 2017, under the Assam Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective from January 25, 2018, the amendments include the insertion of a new entry in the table for services provided by government entities through renting immovable property to registered persons under the Act. Additionally, an explanation has been added to define 'insurance agent' as per the Insurance Act, 1938. These changes were made by the Governor on the Council's recommendation and are published by the Finance Department.
