of <h1>Maharashtra Tax Commissioner Delegates E-way Bill Powers to Deputy Commissioners Under MGST Act 2017, Effective April 2018.</h1> The Commissioner of State Tax, Maharashtra, has delegated specific powers and duties to all Deputy Commissioners of State Tax under the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, effective from April 1, 2018. This delegation is in accordance with sections of the Act and related rules, allowing Deputy Commissioners to act as proper officers for implementing E-way Bill provisions. The delegated powers include those under sections 68 and 129, and related rules 138, 138B, and 138C. These powers are to be exercised within jurisdictional limits and subject to conditions set by the Commissioner.
