of <h1>Maharashtra cuts late fees for delayed GSTR-1 filings to ease taxpayer burden under GST Act, 2017.</h1> The Government of Maharashtra, under the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has reduced the late fee for registered persons failing to file FORM GSTR-1 on time. The late fee is reduced to twenty-five rupees per day for delayed submissions. If there are no outward supplies in a given month or quarter, the late fee is reduced further to ten rupees per day. This reduction is based on recommendations from the Council and aims to ease the financial burden on taxpayers. The notification is authorized by the Deputy Secretary to the Government.
