of <h1>Punjab Amends GST Act: Tax Rate in Clause (i) Reduced to Half Percent, Updates Clause (iii) Wording Effective Feb 2018.</h1> The Government of Punjab has amended a previous notification from the Department of Excise and Taxation regarding the Punjab Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective February 7, 2018, the amendment changes the tax rate in clause (i) from 'one per cent.' to 'half per cent.' Additionally, in clause (iii), the wording is revised to specify 'half per cent. of the turnover of taxable supplies of goods.' This amendment was made under the authority of the Governor of Punjab, based on recommendations from the Council.
