of <h1>ECOs Now Responsible for GST on Housekeeping Services in Puducherry; Amendment Effective August 22, 2017.</h1> The notification seeks to amend Notification No. 17/2017-CT(R) to make electronic commerce operators (ECOs) responsible for paying GST on house-keeping services like plumbing and carpentering. Issued by the Government of Puducherry's Commercial Taxes Secretariat, the amendment, effective from August 22, 2017, adds a clause to the original notification dated June 29, 2017. This clause specifies that ECOs are liable for GST unless the service provider is required to register under section 22(1) of the Puducherry Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The amendment was enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor on the Council's recommendation.
