of <h1>Amendment to Notification No. 50/2017-Customs: Proportionate Release of Security for Provisional Mega Power Projects Now Allowed.</h1> The notification amends Notification No. 50/2017-Customs to modify conditions for provisional mega power projects. It allows for the proportionate release of Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDR) or Bank Guarantees (BG) based on a proportionate mega certificate issued by the Ministry of Power. For imports related to projects with provisional mega power status, importers must provide security in the form of FDR or BG for 126 months. If the final mega power status certificate is not furnished within 120 months, the security will be used to cover customs duty. The amendment permits partial release of security as per the proportionate certificate.
