of <h1>Karnataka Cuts GST Rates on Works Contract Services for Government Projects and Non-Commercial Structures Effective September 2017.</h1> The Government of Karnataka has amended Notification No. 11/2017-CT(R) to reduce the Karnataka Goods and Services Tax (KGST) rate on specified Works Contract Services. The amendment, effective from 21st September 2017, targets services provided to governmental bodies for construction and related activities of structures not intended for commercial use, including educational, clinical, and cultural establishments, as well as residential complexes for self-use or for employees. The revised rates are specified in the updated table of the notification, replacing previous entries. This change is made in the public interest, following recommendations from the Council.
