of <h1>West Bengal Appoints Additional Commissioner of State Tax with Statewide Jurisdiction Under GST Ordinance, Effective June 22, 2017.</h1> The Government of West Bengal has appointed the Additional Commissioner of Sales Tax, previously designated under the West Bengal Value Added Tax Act, 2003, as the Additional Commissioner of State Tax under the West Bengal Goods and Services Tax Ordinance, 2017. This appointment grants the Additional Commissioner jurisdiction over the entire state of West Bengal. The notification, issued by the Finance Department, Revenue, will take effect on June 22, 2017.
