of <h1>Gujarat's Finance Department Renames Commissioner of Commercial Tax to Commissioner of State Tax Effective July 1, 2017.</h1> The Government of Gujarat's Finance Department issued a notification on June 30, 2017, designating the 'Commissioner of Commercial Tax, Gujarat State' as the 'Commissioner of State Tax, Gujarat State' effective from July 1, 2017. This change aligns with the implementation of the Gujarat Goods and Service Tax Act, which also comes into force on July 1, 2017. The notification was issued by the Deputy Secretary to the Government in the name of the Governor of Gujarat.
