of <h1>India Exempts SEZ-Imported Services from Integrated Tax under IGST Act 2017 for Authorized Operations in Public Interest.</h1> The Government of India, through Notification No. 18/2017 dated July 5, 2017, issued by the Ministry of Finance, exempts services imported by a unit or developer in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) from the integrated tax under the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. This exemption applies to services used for authorized operations within SEZs, following recommendations from the Council and in the public interest. The notification is enacted under the authority of section 6, subsection (1) of the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
