of <h1>India Extends Deadlines for Mega Power Project Certifications and Security Validity under Notification No. 8/2017-Central Excise.</h1> The Government of India, through Notification No. 8/2017-Central Excise, has amended Notification No. 12/2012-Central Excise to extend the deadlines related to provisional mega power projects. The time for submitting the final Mega Power Project certificate is extended from 60 months to 120 months. Additionally, the validity period for security, whether in the form of a Fixed Deposit Receipt or Bank Guarantee, is extended from 66 months to 126 months. These amendments are made under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and are deemed necessary in the public interest.
