India Revises Tariff Values for Edible Oils, Metals, and More Under Customs Act, 1962; Effective March 31, 2017.
The Government of India, through the Central Board of Excise and Customs, has issued Notification No. 23/2017 to revise the tariff values for various goods under the Customs Act, 1962. The updated tariff values are specified for items such as edible oils, brass scrap, poppy seeds, areca nuts, gold, and silver. For example, the tariff value for crude palm oil is set at $747 per metric tonne, while gold is valued at $406 per 10 grams. This amendment replaces previous tables in Notification No. 36/2001 and reflects the latest tariff adjustments as of March 31, 2017.
