of <h1>CERSAI Authorized as Central KYC Records Registry under Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, 2002; Manages Digital KYC Records.</h1> The Central Government, under the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, 2002, authorizes the Central Registry of Securitisation Asset Reconstruction and Security Interest of India (CERSAI) to function as the Central KYC Records Registry. CERSAI is empowered to receive, store, safeguard, and retrieve KYC records in digital form for clients, as defined under the Act. This authorization is in accordance with specific sections of the Prevention of Money-Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Rules, 2005. The notification becomes effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
