of <h1>India Amends Import Policy: Granite Slabs Now Freely Importable with Minimum CIF Value of $50/sq.m.</h1> The Government of India has amended the import policy for certain granite slabs under ITC(HS) Codes 68022310, 68022390, 68022900, and 68029300. Effective from October 1, 2016, the import of these items is permitted freely, provided the cost, insurance, and freight (cif) value is at least US $50 per square meter for slabs with a maximum thickness of 20 mm. This amendment is in accordance with the powers conferred by the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020.
