of <h1>GST Council Formed Under Article 279A: Union Finance Minister Leads, State Ministers Join as Members.</h1> The notification announces the formation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council as per the powers granted by Article 279A of the Constitution. The Council comprises the Union Finance Minister as the Chairperson, the Union Minister of State in charge of Revenue or Finance as a member, and Finance or Taxation Ministers or other nominated ministers from each State Government as members. This order, issued by the President, is intended for public information and is documented under the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, dated 15th September 2016.
