of <h1>Customs Notification Amended: Exporters Can Now Register with Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council for Duty-Free Imports.</h1> The notification amends Notification No. 12/2012-Customs to allow manufacturers or merchant-exporters to register with the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, in addition to the Apparel Export Promotion Council or the Synthetic and Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council. This amendment enables them to seek certification from any of these bodies to avail duty-free import entitlement under the specified entry. This change is made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary by the Central Government in the public interest.
