of <h1>India Withdraws Customs Exemptions on Specific Imports; Updates Item (ix) in Paragraph 2 Under Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 33/2016-Customs, dated May 17, 2016, to amend Notification No. 39/96-Customs dated July 23, 1996. This amendment withdraws exemptions on specific imported goods by omitting serial numbers 7, 21, 23, 26, 27, and 28 from the notification's table. Additionally, item (ix) in paragraph 2 has been updated to include all goods under serial numbers 18 and 36 of the table. These changes are made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
