of <h1>Customs Amendment: No Security Needed for Concessional Duty on Imports for Manufacturing Excisable Goods, Effective March 16, 2016.</h1> Notification No. 39/2016-CUSTOMS (N.T.) amends the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty for Manufacture of Excisable Goods) Rules, 2016. It sets March 16, 2016, as the effective date for these rules and removes the requirement for submitting security to avail benefits under the notification. Additionally, references to the 1996 rules in any official documents will now be construed as references to the 2016 rules. This amendment is issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Government of India, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962.
