of <h1>India Rescinds 2012 Central Excise Notification via Notification No. 7/2016; Public Interest Cited Under Central Excise Act Section 3.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, issued Notification No. 7/2016 - Central Excise (N.T.) on March 1, 2016. This notification rescinds the earlier Notification No. 9/2012-Central Excise (N.T.) dated March 17, 2012. The rescission is executed under the authority granted by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The rescission does not affect actions taken or omitted prior to this change.
