<h1>India Amends Excise Rules: Jewelry Manufacturers Get Exemption from Certain Sub-Clauses Under Chapter 7113.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, issued Notification No. 6/2016 to amend Notification No. 35/2001-Central Excise (N.T.), dated June 26, 2001. This amendment, effective March 1, 2016, introduces a new sub-clause under clause (8). It exempts manufacturing factories or premises producing jewelry, excluding silver jewelry, but including silver jewelry studded with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, or sapphires, from certain sub-clauses. This change falls under chapter heading 7113 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985.
