of <h1>Central Government Expands IT SEZ in Thane, Maharashtra, Adding 0.62 Hectares Under SEZ Act 2005 and Rules 2006.</h1> The Central Government has approved an expansion of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services located in Kalwa Trans Thane Creek Industrial Area, MIDC, District Thane, Maharashtra. Initially notified in 2007, the SEZ, managed by a private organization, has increased from 19.34 hectares to 19.96 hectares with the inclusion of an additional 0.62 hectares. This expansion is executed under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, to enhance the designated sector-specific zone.
