of <h1>India Extends Import Exemptions for Chickpeas and Lentils Beyond June 2016 Under Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 61/2015-Customs, dated December 30, 2015. This notification amends the previous notification No. 12/2012-Customs from March 17, 2012, by omitting clauses (ab) and (ad) in the proviso after the Table. The amendment ensures the continuation of import exemptions for chickpeas (garbanzos) and lentils beyond June 1, 2016, under the powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962. This decision is deemed necessary in the public interest.
