India Imposes Provisional Anti-Dumping Duties on Vitamin C Imports from China and Japan to Protect Domestic Industry
An anti-dumping investigation was conducted concerning the import of Vitamin C from China and Japan, following a petition by a domestic company alleging dumping practices. The investigation revealed that both countries exported Vitamin C to India at prices below normal value, causing material injury to the Indian industry. Significant increases in imports from these countries were noted, which led to price undercutting, reduced sales, and financial losses for the domestic producers. Consequently, provisional anti-dumping duties of 27.56 per kg for imports from Japan and 61.96 per kg for imports from China were recommended to protect the domestic industry.
