of <h1>Central Government amends notification under Chartered Accountants Act, appoints former CBDT Chairman as new Chairman.</h1> The Central Government, under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, has amended the notification G.S.R. 38(E) from 19th January 2011. The amendment involves replacing the previous serial number and entries with a new entry appointing a former Chairman of the CBDT as the Chairman. This change is effective from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The original notification was published in the Gazette of India, with subsequent amendments made in September 2011 and June 2012.
