of <h1>India Appoints New Director General (Safeguard) Under Customs Tariff Rules, 1997; Supersedes Previous Notifications</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, has appointed a new Director General (Safeguard) under the Customs Tariff (Identification and Assessment of Safeguard Duty) Rules, 1997. This appointment supersedes the previous notification No. 115/2013-Customs (N.T.) dated November 27, 2013. The notification, numbered 48/2015-Customs (N.T.), was issued on May 25, 2015, and published in the Gazette of India. It was later superseded by notification No. 91/2015 on September 7, 2015.
