Effective from its publication date, the amendment specifies that the Chairperson and Members will be governed by the New Pension Scheme, with pay aligned to that of a Secretary to the Government of India. They will not receive additional pension or gratuity for their service in the CCI. This amendment modifies the original rules established in 2003 and updated in 2009, 2011, and 2014.
