of <h1>India Exempts High-Speed Diesel from Extra Excise Duty Over Rs. 6/Litre in 2015, Later Rescinded in 2018.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, issued Notification No. 11/2015-Central Excise on March 1, 2015, exempting high speed diesel oil from the additional excise duty exceeding six rupees per litre. This exemption was made under the authority of section 133 of the Finance Act, 1999, in conjunction with section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944. The exemption was deemed necessary in the public interest. This notification was later rescinded by Notification No. 02/2018-C.E. on February 2, 2018.
