<h1>India amends excise duty rates for goods from Export and Technology Parks; rates rise from 12% to 12.5%.</h1> The Government of India has issued an amendment to Notification No. 23/2003-Central Excise, dated March 31, 2003. This amendment, effective from March 1, 2015, involves changes to the excise duty rates and exemptions for goods cleared to the Domestic Tariff Area by Export Oriented Units, Electronic Hardware Technology Parks, and Software Technology Parks. Specifically, serial numbers 1A and 1B are omitted, and the excise duty rate for serial numbers 5A, 6, and 7A is increased from 12% to 12.5%. This amendment is made under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944.
