This appointment, under the Customs Act, 1962, empowers the Principal Commissioner to adjudicate matters related to a show cause notice issued to certain entities, including two specific companies in Mumbai. The notice, dated November 17, 2014, was issued by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Mumbai Zonal Unit. The Principal Commissioner will also exercise powers alongside the Additional Commissioner of Customs from the Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai Zone-III.
