of <h1>Government Cancels Biotechnology SEZ Notification in Gurgaon; Area Denotified per SEZ Rules 2006</h1> The Central Government has rescinded the notification for a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Biotechnology at village Rahka and Rani-ka-Singola, Tehsil-Sohna, District-Gurgaon, Haryana. Initially proposed by a private company under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, the SEZ covered an area of 25.7177 hectares. The company later sought to denotify the entire area, which was approved by the government on November 8, 2013. The rescission is effective except for actions taken prior to this decision, as per the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006.
