The Central Government has established an Approval Committee for a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) focused on information technology and IT-enabled services in Gujarat, to be developed by a private company. This committee, formed under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, includes the Development Commissioner as Chairperson, and members from various government departments, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Foreign Trade, Customs, Income Tax, and Finance. Additionally, two officers from the Government of Gujarat and a representative from the developing company are included. The committee's purpose is to oversee the SEZ's development and operations.
