of <h1>Biotechnology SEZ in Maharashtra's Thane District to Begin July 31, 2008, Recognized as Inland Container Depot.</h1> The Central Government has designated July 31, 2008, as the commencement date for a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) dedicated to the biotechnology sector in Maharashtra. This SEZ, to be developed by a private company, is located in the villages of Kharivali and Bhopivali, Taluka Wada, District Thane. As per the notification under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, it will be recognized as an Inland Container Depot under the Customs Act, 1962. This decision was issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce.
