Special Economic Zone designation enables development and operation of a sector-specific IT and ITES zone after statutory approval. Notification designates a sector-specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Gopanapally and Vattinagulapally villages following a proposal by M/s. Wipro Limited and satisfaction of statutory requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The Central Government granted a letter of approval under Section 3 and, invoking Section 4(1) of the Act and Rule 8 of the SEZ Rules, 2006, formally notifies two survey parcels (124/P and 132/P) totaling 40.88 hectares as the SEZ.
