New IT SEZ in Butibori, Maharashtra, designated as Inland Container Depot under Customs Act, effective October 27, 2008.

The Central Government has designated October 27, 2008, as the commencement date for a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) focused on information technology and IT-enabled services in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation Industrial Area, Butibori, Village Rengapur, Taluka Nagpur, District Nagpur, Maharashtra. This SEZ, developed by a private company, is recognized as an Inland Container Depot under section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, pursuant to the powers granted by section 53(2) of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.
