Central Government Approves IT and ITES Special Economic Zone in Nagpur, Maharashtra Under SEZ Act 2005

The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services by a private company in Maharashtra. This SEZ will be located at the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation Industrial Area in Butibori, Village Rengapur, Taluka Nagpur, District Nagpur. The proposal was submitted under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and after fulfilling the necessary requirements, a letter of approval was granted on July 30, 2007. The designated area for the SEZ covers 1717.189 hectares in plot numbers 1-4 (PL-23) in Rengapur.
